Latin-Baroque Fiesta:
A Journey of Love & Longing

In celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month, join us for an immersive musical voyage that traverses the vibrant landscape of Ibero-American music. This program celebrates the rhythmic pulse and soulful melodies that emerged from the meeting of worlds, where the exuberant energy of the Fiesta meets the bittersweet longing for a distant homeland.

Through the fiery strings of the Fandango and the graceful patterns of the Marionas, we pay tribute to the Morenas—the dark-skinned women whose stories of love and endurance are woven into melodies and dances. From the sacred to the secular, this “Journey of Love” explores themes of identity, exile, and the enduring power of music to bridge the divide between then and now, here and home.

Experience a world where history dances, and every note tells a story of the heart. Featuring music from the Trujillo Codex, the Garza collection, San Juan Ixcoy ms, Romances y letras a tres vozes, and others.
